Question 1.
How do I get tickets to a concert in Japan
when my lonely little ass is totally not in Japan?
If you're trying to get tickets to a Japanese concert from outside Japan, the Not Greatest Shopping Service is here to help! Cayce is happy to help you purchase tickets for any and all Japanese shows, so long as they are not fanclub-only shows. If the tickets to a show sell out, we can also help you purchase tickets via auction. Go here for more information about the ticket shopping service, here for more info about auctions, and here to view feedback from satisfied customers who have already used the ticket shopping service to realize their Japanese rock-n-roll dreams.
It can be difficult to get general admission tickets for very popular shows, because the tickets sell out very quickly. The best option is joining a band's fan club, or barring that, to enter a presale ticket lottery via Ticket Pia, Lawson Ticket, eplus, or another ticket service. Presale lotteries happen in advance of the date the tickets go on general sale. I am perfectly happy to help you with presale lotteries, just send me an email with the details of your request and I'll see what I can do.
Anyhow, if what you want is tickets to a Buck-Tick show, and you are a member of the fanclub, you won't need my help - you can reserve your tickets directly through Fish Tank, even from overseas. This may be true for the fan clubs of other bands, as well.
It used to be possible to reserve tickets from overseas through Fish Tank by sending an email to bt@buck-tick.com with the appropriate subject heading and personal info. Now, however, it is possible for overseas fans to reserve through Fish Tank Web and pay by credit card. If you need help dealing with Fish Tank Web, I'm happy to help you as a part of my usual shopping service, just send me an email with the details of your request. The procedures for other fan clubs will depend on the fan club.
If you are not in the band’s fan club, or the band doesn’t have a fan club, but the concert you want to attend is one at a small venue by a little-known band, you can always try emailing the band directly and ask if you can reserve a ticket to their show. If they can read English, they’ll probably be thrilled and more than happy to reserve a ticket for you. Though if this is the case, you’d probably be just as safe picking up a ticket directly at the venue where the show is being held once you get to Japan.
