This song has always struck me as the most mysterious track Lucy has ever recorded (also one of their all-around strongest songs.) Music-wise, this song probably veers closer to Buck-Tick territory than anything else in Lucy's discography, not surprising since Imai wrote it, but what I find striking about this one is how the lyrics mark such a large departure from Imai's usual themes and style, especially given that Lucy was conceived as a sort of classic rock inspired tribute to the late hide (may he rest in peace) and most of Lucy's lyrics tend to be brash, straightforward rock-n-roll fun, on the whole more positive and upbeat than Buck-Tick lyrics, even those written by Imai. Even when considering the lyrics he's written for Buck-Tick, the dark imagery Imai conjures in these lyrics seems somehow creepier and more complex than his usual quirky cyberpunk fantasy tales, as well as being much oblique and ambiguous than is typical for him. I also find the third person perspective odd - the "you" character in these lyrics desires this devilish other guy, not the singer.

1) The word Imai used here is “butoubyou,” which means “chorea.” Chorea is a condition by neural degenerative genetic diseases where people become unable to control their movements and shake and tremble uncontrollably. Given the tone of the rest of the song, I thought it would be odd to use such a medical word, so instead I used the archaic colloquial term "St Vitus Dance," which refers to a variety of types of chorea as well as the Medieval "dancing mania" phenomenon where large groups of people would appear to simultaneously go insane and dance until they collapsed from exhaustion. Bauhaus also released a called "St Vitus Dance" with which Imai is surely familiar.

2) Since the word "step" is written in katakana in the original Japanese, this is a reference to a dance step, not a normal walking step, which calls to the dance reference in the previous line.
